AMRs and cybersecurity
In cyber-physical systems, security and safety go hand-in-hand
What would be a data breach in a traditional IT system can quickly turn into a safety hazard for AMRs.
It is very apparent that cyber-physical systems are becoming increasingly interesting both to the security industry and to threat actors. While most attacks still target the IT infrastructure of businesses, threats to the operational technology (OT) devices themselves are rapidly growing, as new zero-day vulnerabilities affecting embedded devices are being identified at an increasing pace.
At MiR we take cybersecurity seriously. Our products must operate safely and reliably without posing security risks to our customers’ enterprise IT infrastructures. To execute on this strategic focus, we are operating a Product Security Program based on the IEC 62443 standard family for Industrial Automation and Control System Security.
